ETOL ACTION PANEL: WORKING GROUPS

The second strategy of the ETOL Action Panel is to break into various working groups to meet, discuss and act upon certain topics or issues within the ETOL community. Below are descriptions and sign up forms for the established working groups. If you would you like to create a group please contact the Chair!

Sowing Seeds of Change is an environmental action group made up of ETOL students who are passionate about the planet and have come together to discuss what we as a community can do to help combat the climate crisis and then take action. We are not here to “save the world” tomorrow, but rather to understand the importance of discussing climate issues and taking specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely steps in order to positively contribute to the planet over time. The steps we plan to take will start from within the ETOL community here at Mount Royal University and then expand outward. We will focus first on creating more sustainability within the ETOL program, and create a plan of action that will be supported by alumni/staff which will be implemented. Let’s grow a better world through planting seeds of change, collective and positive action is the path forward that together as an ETOL community we can pave.

The mission of the diversity and inclusivity working group is to bring together a group of students to focus on and discuss the topic of diversity and meaningful inclusion in the ETOL program. In addition to discussion of the topic, steps will be taken to identify and implement actionable changes regarding the topic.

The mission of the affordability working group is to bring together a group of students to focus on and discuss the topic of the financial cost/affordability of participating in the ETOL program in addition to regular tuition and textbook costs. The working group will meet to create an in-depth analysis of this topic as well as develop several potential solutions. Potential solutions will be presented to the community and a plan of action will be developed then implemented in order to address this issue by students with the secured help of alumni and faculty members.
